In a Frost & Sullivan report completed at the end of 2016 focused on the state of enterprise mobility, they interviewed almost 2,000 IT decision makers and found:
- 98 percent of enterprises report that employees use smartphones for business purposes
- 93 percent use tablets
- in only 20 percent of businesses do employees use a device provided by the organization
This opens businesses up to security and control risks as well as additional costs, with around 12 percent of IT budgets being allocated to BYOD administration, applications, and security.
Organizations need to rethink the way their businesses work with people and devices. Turning to traditional virtual desktop solutions is proving more costly and cumbersome. A strategic approach to the desktop and application experience is needed to ensure IT is simplifying the process.
As millennials reshape the modern workforce, today’s businesses must utilize technology in increasingly innovative ways to foster collaboration and drive productivity.
